No!  We will not shoot any projectiles at participants during the event.  We may splash you with water pistols, but they will be part of the war scenes which will contain mostly noise and some visual effects.  The scenes will be as action packed as we can make them without projectiles.

CAN-SHOULD BRING: Wear clothing that is appropriate for muddy sporting activity and that you may be ok trashing afterwards.  Alternatively, you can dress up like a clown, soldier, superhero, animal or other funny costume, just make sure you are decent for the public to view.  Wear shoes (again you may be throwing them out afterwards).  Other suggestions include bringing a towel, bringing gloves, a change of clothes, a plastic car seat cover (trash bag), and bring cash to spend on food or merchandise, or to make a donation to Homes For Our Troops.  Oh, and bring a friend or 10.

  1. A photo ID listed here: (Passport, Drivers License, Student ID, Legal Alien Card, Birth Certificate).
  2. A PRINTED copy of your ticket as forwarded to you by Eventbrite.
  3. A signed Waiver & Agreement Form.
  1. Mock weapons to go with your soldier costume.
  2. Anything resembling a weapon of any kind.
  3. A bad attitude - please leave that at home.
  4. Pets - unless required for safety, health or personal assistance reasons i.e. Seeing Eye Dog.
  5. Wheeled vehicles of any kind.  Wheelchairs are an exception of course.

Extremely safe.  We take all precautions to ensure the obstacles and scenes are safe.  However, as mentioned in the Waiver & Agreement Form there will be Inherent Risk associated with the event which you must acknowledge before taking place in the event.  We will have medical staff onsite should something happen, but we believe we have a very safe course and very safe obstacles.  Challenging, exhilarating and fun, but very safe.

Ummmm… really?  Is that really a question you need answered?  Of course…  You will find mud in parts that you never knew existed and be finding mud in other parts three days later when you are telling your co-workers about it at the water cooler…  “Oh this mud, its from….”

NOTE:  At our May 21 event we received feedback to have more mud next that's what you are going to get.  More Mud.

Your Start Time will be noted on main part of your ticket.  Note: we do not allow someone to change their start time on the day as slots are limited per wave.

Yes.  Anyone over the minimum age (13) is welcome.  It is a strenuous activity so we recommend you consider seriously whether you can do it based on level of fitness, age, health conditions etc before you register.  Make good and smart choices.

While not as hard as some, it might be harder than others.  Participants will have fun while also exerting themselves.  It is designed as more of a fun run than an ultimate challenge.  The experience will be unlike all other mud or obstacle runs because of the war-scene elements that are positioned throughout the run.

Yes.  There will be baisc showers (hose off area) at the Base Camp for washing off after the race is complete.  We still recommend you bringing a change of clothes though and yes there will be change rooms available too.

We MAY have mobile credit card machines onsite, but please, please, please plan on them NOT being there.  So we recommend you BRING CASH!

Yes of course you can.  Move through the mud and the war scenes at your own pace and move through the remainder of the course at your own pace too.  A lovely stroll covered in mud on a gorgeous day…why not.

Yes you can.  However, you might miss some of the recreated war scenes.  Some of these scenes will require a group of runners to congregate to create a better atmosphere for the scene.  For example, when we have you shuffled into a makeshift D’Day Beach Landing craft in preparation to land on the beaches of Normandy.  This scene will be much more effective when you are with a large group, we promise!!!  So we ask you to be patient as you wait for more Muddy Grunts to arrive and get ready for the charge!!!

Clothes.  Shoes.  Fancy dress costume.

Seriously though, wear comfortable clothing that allows movement.  For example, sports shirt and shorts or pants.  Maybe athletic undergear or pants that cover down over the knees (you will be crawling after all).  Wear reasonable running shoes, but ones that you are ok throwing away afterwards.  Bring gloves to protect your hands.  Wear anything really, especially anything that grabs the photographers attention.

NO, NO, NO!!!  Unfortunately we now live in a world we must say “no”.  Years ago we would have been able to allow people with toy guns to move through the course.  However, we live in a new era.  There will be specific people (actors) with replica rifles, etc., for the war scenes, but they will be ‘on station’ at the scenes for the event.  If a participant brings a toy gun, or replica gun to the event we will ask them to take it back to their vehicle and they will not be allowed to participate until they comply.  Security will also help them back to their vehicle if necessary.

Don’t wear items of clothing you don’t want to get muddy.   Your favorite suit, or favorite ball gown is a definite no no.  Please dress decent so as not to offend the other participants.

You don’t have to, but you will be missing out on a significant portion of what makes this run different and exciting.  However, we also understand that there may be those who simply don’t want to go through the scenes and that is totally up to them.

Yes.  The war scenes will have loud sound effects with explosions and gun fire to help us recreate some of the war events.  Please be aware we will be making the sound effects as real as possible.  If you have a sensitivity to these sound effects or (in all seriousness) suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (or something similar) we recommend you consider and re-consider attending the event.

Well hopefully.  If it’s just you then that might be a little lame so bring friends...Build a Team!

Yes!  The 9:00am wave will be mixed.  All competitive 'Muddy Grunts' will line up in front with remaining non-competative 'Muddy Grunts' lined up behind.
There WILL be a prize for the first, second and third place finishers.  Competative Muddy Grunts will not have to wait at the war scenes and will be able to run straight through to the finish line.
